How it works

TCF Canada reports listening and reading on a 0–699 scale and writing and speaking on a 0–20 scale. IRCC maps each to NCLC 4–10.

The writing and speaking bands are narrow — 10–11 is NCLC 7 and 12–13 is NCLC 8 — so a single point can move you a whole level.
