How it works
TCF Canada speaking takes about 12 minutes: Task 1, a guided interview, 2 minutes with no preparation; Task 2, an interaction where you ask the examiner questions, 5 minutes 30 seconds including 2 minutes of preparation; Task 3, giving your point of view, 4 minutes 30 seconds with no preparation.
TEF Canada speaking takes about 15 minutes: Section A, 5 minutes, get as much information as you can about an ad; Section B, 10 minutes, present an offer and convince the examiner to take part.
Say your answers out loud, on the clock. If you record yourself, the audio stays in your browser and is never uploaded. Listen back for long pauses and verb endings.

Common questions
About 12 minutes: 2 minutes for Task 1, 5 minutes 30 seconds for Task 2 (including 2 minutes of preparation) and 4 minutes 30 seconds for Task 3.
Only for Task 2, the interaction: 2 minutes to prepare your questions. Tasks 1 and 3 start straight away.
About 15 minutes with the examiner: 5 minutes for Section A (obtaining information) and 10 minutes for Section B (convincing).
Time yourself on real-length tasks, speak out loud and record it. For Section A, ask many different questions; for Section B, answer every objection with a new argument.
